I usually look back to see what I wrote last month. I see I said "it has been a busy month ..."
Well, it has been a busy month, August, with the Dartmoor Folk Festival, the Okehampton Show, Sticklepath Flower/Dog show & Summer Fete together with visits from the family and trips to Drogo and Okehampton Castles and finally a Bee Keepers meeting resulting in about 600 photos to be sorted etc.
I am preparing this month's edition a week early as I am off to the Royal Cornwall Showground at Wadebridge on 30th to photo the SWEP Parade of Rescues.
Change : Front cover layout has been changed to add a moving 'news' menu and a larger audio control to vary the volume or mute the music.

Change: I have been plagued by spam, lottery winnings and worse by idiots who harvest e-mail addresses so the five on the menus have been withdrawn and a new slot, page top right, added.
The statistics are still up due to our 'friends' from Ecuador. It appears the main day is the 17th of the month, for some reason. Carol suggests that it might be a school project. Who knows. The Foreign Office have no suggestions except to write to the Ecuador Embassy in London (which doesn't publish an e-mail address). Robin tells me that he will be editing The Beacon magazine this month so no written contribution from him. Never mind, I still have many of his photos that I have not yet published.

Speaking to folk at the Sticklepath Fete about a contact there only resulted in the finger being pointed at the usual people who are doing plenty for the community anyway. One day .....
I found out, after my initial enthusiasm, that the % that the SWEP charity gets from Amazon is based on the price exclusive of VAT and, in the case of electronic equipment is down to 4% not 6% as I thought. This wouldn't matter if everyone was using the link but the way I found out was checking the amount donated and finding it was only Carol and myself doing it!
