If you are a horse lover, please give a thought to the suffering ponies and horses in our region. SWEP (South West Equine Protection) respond day or night to reported cases of cruelty, neglect or accident, paying the veterinary fees to help the animal recover (or, sadly, to be humanely put down, if recovery is not an option). The animals are rescued and cared for by SWEP and halter broken if necessary before being put out on loan with a system of inspection and advice to ensure their continued welfare. All this costs money and SWEP exists on donations. If you can spare just one pound it would be gratefully received.
