Sticklepath by David Watkins
photos by David Watkins

In Sticklepath, the first month of 2006 was marginally less exciting than the last month of 2005 and we all remember what that was like – don't we?

In mid January a small team of residents spent several hours of their own time clearing gorse from Sticklepath Moor. The Moor is reached by walking down Willey Lane (alongside Sticklepath Stores) past the cricket pitch and turning left through the gate opposite Moor Farm. There is a Moor notice board by the gate.

As Davids photos of this event make a story of their own, I have put them on a separate page. Click here to see them. pete

Sticklepath Moor makes a pleasant flat walk alongside the farmland. In the autumn there is an abundance of blackberries in the peripheral hedgerows.

Major structural work is ongoing at the Forge and rhododendron and scrub clearance is underway on the riverside twixt Sticklepath and Belstone.
