South Zeal from the School Tower

These photographs were taken in November 2005 by Martin Unwin, the Deputy Headteacher (Acting Headteacher until February). He used the school digital camera, from the scaffold tower, which was erected around the bell tower, while maintenance work and decoration was carried out.

Sue Wonnacott who sent me the photos claims that several villagers like to time their coffee breaks by the sound of the school bell!

The next six photos are all of areas of the school. First the 'number square' used by the older children to play maths games. Over the road is the newly enlarged playground with the playing field beyond. The middle row shows the 'temporary' classrooms and then the undercover area for the Reception Class to play next to Clifford White's farmyard. The bottom row shows the scaffolding on the tower and next to it a view of the quiet area for table top games.
Two fine views of the village centre and Cosdon Beacon behind, the left with Greenbank and the right with Pelistry House and St Mary's chapel.
Next Barton Farm in the foreground and Lambe Farm in the background and then a view towards Sticklepath with the rear of Victory Hall.
The picture on the left shows the rear of The Stores while that on the right is a view of Vera White's garden.
A nice sky as a backdrop to the weathervane and a view towards The Rising Sun on the 'old' A30
