Vintage Farm Machinery 2005
This year, the event has had it's name changed from "Vintage Farming" to "Vintage Working". As Alezane has mentioned elsewhere, this is not an accurate title either as not a horse was to be seen. What the event has evolved into is a ploughing competition using old tractors with a couple of exhibits of hand tools and colourful tractor seats and some small working engines pumping water or generating electricity. Nothing wrong with that! As usual they had glorious weather and it was a very enjoyable event - particularly for those who remember using such machinery or for the vintage machine enthusiasts. For the general public, there was still no programme or coherence of activity. I really enjoyed it but the organisers shouldn't be surprised if the event doesn't grow any larger. I get the feeling they don't want it to anyway!
