World Book Day - Thursday 3 rd March
This year we will be taking part in Readathon, which is a charity raising money for The Roald Dahl Foundation which supports various literacy initiatives and Sargent Cancer Care for Children who care for children and young people in the UK suffering from cancer, Hodgkin's disease, leukaemia, epilepsy, blood disorders and head injuries. Each child will be given an official Readathon Sponsor Card following discussion with their teacher about the number and titles of the books, which they hope to read over the Easter holiday. Please encourage family and friends to sponsor them - this is a good way to encourage reading at the same time as raising money for worthwhile causes.

Dog Mess

Since the beginning of term there seems to have been an increase in the amount of mess being noticed on the pavement from the school towards the main street. This causes a lot of problems with children stepping in it either on their way to and from school or on their way to the Victory Hall for PE or assembly. They then sometimes walk over the school carpets/floors before it is noticed, causing a health hazard. Please be extra vigilant when walking with your children. We would ask that if anyone is seen not clearing up after their dog, that it is reported to the dog warden.
