A Visit to Cornwall
My wife Carol had to go to Bodmin on a one day course and I thought it might be a good opportinity to take my camera along and get a few shots of places that I don't normally visit. Once she had gone off with some friends, I took a walk around Bodmin town, starting off through the park.
When I got back to the car park, I found that I still had about six hours to kill so I got out my map of Cornwall and decided that I probably had time to get to Fowey and back before Carol came out to look for the car.
If you know Fowey, you wil recall that the car park is very high above the harbour which can be very interesting and scenic on the way down and very crippling on the way back up. When I finally staggered into my car, gasping for breath, I realised that I still had a couple of hours to kill, Looking at the map again, I saw that I could make it to a place I had always wanted to visit - Tregony. Why? Because that is the name of one of my horses, and for one thing, I wanted to find out the correct pronuciation of his name!
I concluded my visit to Cornwall with a lunch in the King's Arms, at Tregony and had my pronunciation confirmed. A very pleasant day all round and I still got back home in time to feed Tregony and his friends Wicked and Alezane.
