A change to the page heading format. It may not be so striking, in fact, I am not entirely happy with it yet but it does achieve my main aim which is to take up less of the screen. It has also enabled me to tidy things up a bit and create a uniformity throughout the site. I have had to revisit all the pages (something over 120 of them) and have also noted those that I will want to re-look at and tidy up later.

September was a quieter month, in terms of local events, the major ones being the South Tawton Church House and the Okehampton Camp open days at the start of the month and the Vinatge Farming event at the end. October sees things picking up with first the Pram Race and then the Carnival Season (our own and Okehampton's). And, of course, there is Halloween at the end.

I do not get the final site statistics until the first day of the new month but already it is obvious that the Ecuador rush is quietening down. Visits will be a bit down as expected at the end of the holiday season but it is pleasing to see a rising trend of UK visitors. That is not to say we dont want visits from other countries, we do, very much, it is just that it is nice to get some home support too,

I just wanted to say a word about the front page (and church page) music. Because of the size of files, the only kind of sound files that will download quickly enough are Midi files. These files are not sound recordings (as you would get on a CD for example) but they are numeric descriptions of the music (tone, pitch, duration, etc.) sent to your computer sythesizer to play. This is the reason why midi files can't carry the human voice.

I mention this to explain that I was looking for a file of the Carmina Burana music on my favourite classical music download site and could find nothing from Carl Orfe at all. Then, of course, I realised - it's vocal! Still, I love boogie as well!

I would like to say how well the SWEP charity donations (CAF, Amazon, Dropcash) are doing. I would like to say but when I check I find that the only donations so far are from Carol & I.
