I am an ex racehorse, born in France but now living in South Zeal on the north eastern slopes of Cosdon Beacon, Dartmoor, Devon in the U.K. The above logo is me in my younger days (I was called “Always Special” then) racing at Lingfield with Leslie Jefford on board.
I am now a retired grandmother, having had two filly foals when my racing career ended.

The aim of this site is to let you see what a lovely part of the world this is and to encourage you to maybe come and see for yourself.

This site is divided into the eight main pages depicted above, with links via the Tourism page to many more sites throughout the area.

The Alezane’s Diary and the Staff News pages are dynamic, a sort of ‘day to day, equine story of country living ...’

The Local Events page is a mixture of a directory of local services, clubs and activities and plugs for (and reviews of) interesting happenings in the locality. I am sure this will evolve when more local people start to become involved.

The Dartmoor, South Zeal and Locality pages are (at the moment) a personal view of the area, taken from a variety of written, verbal, anecdotal and experienced sources. Again, it is hoped, others in the area will take a hand in developing these pages.
