I am writing this on the 30th September. My last involvement with directly producing the site will be when I publish the concluding part of the serial and any other pending pages by October 16th.
As far as I know, at this moment, there will be a November issue and beyond, as at least one person, maybe more, has come forward to take over the running of the site. I believe the intention is, initially, to retain the bulk of the 'static' site as it is and to concentrate on producing the monthly Beacon Villages Journal. I would urge all of you to support this effort and to send in any reports, advance notices, photos and articles to the new person/people via the site email address on the above menu. No doubt they will identify themselves in November if not before.
There will be one small change to the site archives, in that I will be taking my own photos from the Photo Album Archives, to set up a new site when we move. This still leaves 286 photos taken by others - David Watkins, Robin Tilley, Sue Wonnacott etc. so the site will not be exactly bereft. I have been asked why not leave them and take copies. The reason is, if I did that, people would have no reason to bother to visit my new site. I will however, leave a link to them in the Archives.
When we move, it will be to a leased gite on a farm, until we can find and purchase our new home. Unfortunately, this gite does not have a phone, let alone broadband, so my only contact with the internet will be at the two 'internet cafes' in the nearest town (Alencon, Normandy, France). I intend to get a new domain (website) name, when I get my own broadband installation in our new home. Until then, my photos will be available on:

This site is not ready yet. I will be working on it in the next week or so. However, please add it to your favorites/bookmarks to look at later.
I am going to miss producing the Beacon Villages site. Having to come up with 50/60 photos for the Photo Album each month was a burden but also a wonderful incentive at the same time. It is all too easy to just not bother. I made my thank you's in the village magazine, 'The Beacon' but, just in case you live outside the distribution area, here they are again:
I would like to thank all those who contributed to the website, particularly the villages and special regular features representatives. It was their hard work that made the site what is was. I would also like to thank all those of you who looked at the site. I hope you found it useful. The best thing that could happen now would be for both sets of people to continue to give your support to whoever carries on the website – it will be as good as you make it.
