Friends Of South Tawton Primary School Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of South Tawton Primary School For those who are new to the school, this is your parent/teacher association which is made up of a group of parents, carers and teachers who organize events to raise funds for the school. The children have benefited greatly this year thanks to FOSTPS, from playground equipment (the very popular craze boxes), art materials, sports kit and outings. These are all extra things which make the whole school experience more colourful and fun for the children! However, in order to keep these 'extras' coming, we need your help. The committee needs an injection of new spirit and ideas, especially from the parents involved in the early years of South Tawton School. Ursula and Theresa have been joint chairs for four years and due to increased work demands for both of them, they feel they can no longer commit themselves to the running of FOSTPS. They will carry on as joint chair until Christmas, but after this time we need new committee members to step in and take over. Sadly, if we don't get parental support (at last year's AGM there were more teachers than parents!), then FOSTPS will cease to exist, we will lose our charitable status and the children will no longer benefit from the funds raised. It would also be a great loss if social events such as the annual silent auction and school barbecue did not take place.
