Helping Children in Goa – The El Shaddai Charitable Trust Ltd

Wiz Francis and Jo Royal will be travelling to Goa in February to visit one of the children’s homes set up by the lady who recently visited Wiz and gave a slide show of her projects. They would like donations of light clothes and sandals/plimsolls to take with them for the children (babies – teenage sizes) please – also useful is swimwear and arm bands. They will take as much as possible with them, although there is a weight restriction of 20kgs excess baggage. Anything which they can’t take they will sell and take the money instead! They will be holding a garage sale/coffee morning (sale of toys/bric-a-brac etc) after Christmas to raise funds. If you have anything suitable, please contact Wiz or Jo. Thank you.

How many of our children have to get up at 5.15 to complete a rigorous routine of washing and cleaning? And look so happy about it? While the photo may be posed, and one can get used to anything (as our older farmers may remember from their childhood), it can’t be much fun to have to live ‘in a home’.

If we can do just a little, to make their lives a bit better, then we should support Wiz and Jo to do it on our behalf.

To provide safe shelter for the street children during the nights.
To provide best possible medical facility which will ensure a healthy physical growth.
To provide love and affection that they may loose their sense of rejection and grow emotionally balanced.
To educate them on the importance of personal and general hygiene along with the basics of reading and writing through creative techniques.
To work towards ensuring better facilities at the working place of children.
To make the victims of child labour aware of the rights.

To provide a safe and secure environment, conducive to growth, for every child at risk, for it is not their mistake to be born on the streets.
